Stoney Middleton
About Stoney Middleton
Set in the Peak district to the north of Bakewell in Middleton Dale, the village is surrounded by a dominant landscape that attracts large amounts of walkers and climbers to the region.
There are restored Roman baths in the village that use a spring situated below the village hall. ‘Lover’s Leap’, a spot above the village very popular with climbers, has various local stories that tell the origin of the name itself.
There are well-dressing celebrations in July.
