The award winning 4 star Bateman's Mill Hotel and Miller's Restaurant is situated in a quiet rural area close to Chesterfield and on the edge of the Peak District. The Hotel is a conversion of an 18th-century mill house with eight en-suite bedrooms, ample parking, ground floor bar and restaurant, first floor restaurant, conference and meeting facilities and private dining room. That’s why the Bateman's Mill Hotel won the 'Outstanding Quality Award' in 2005.

Dining

The Hotel offers several dining options. Chef-proprietor John Roberts, a member of Master Chefs of Great Britain, produces wonderful food focusing on modern European dishes with an emphasis on local produce.

Ground Floor Bar & Restaurant

With exposed beams, open fire and feature well-race the bar/restaurant (pictured below) is open for lunch & dinner Monday to Saturday and for lunch on Sunday. Extensive menu available from light snacks to full meals.

Millers Restaurant

This lovely first-floor restaurant with exposed beams and views across the countryside is open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday evenings and for lunch on Sunday, with extensive two/three course menus that change regularly. Available at other times for special parties.

The Woodthorpe Room

Our first-floor private dining suite provides a lovely setting for that special occasion, family celebration or business event. A range of special dining packages are available combining wonderful food with carefully selected wines and liqueurs.

Local Area

Close to many Peak Park attractions including Chatsworth House, Haddon & Hardwick Hall, Bolsover Castle, Bakewell and Matlock. An ideal base for visiting this beautiful part of the country, with a range of cycling, golf, shopping, walking and water sports facilities nearby.

Directions

Traveling from south or north, take junction 29 on the M1 and the exit to Clay Cross. Continue along this road for approximately 4 miles until you reach the T junction with the A61 Derby/Chesterfield Road turn right then immediately left, continue on this road for 1 mile and the Hotel is on the right-hand side.
